CMMC 2.0 Is Now Official.

The DoD’s final rule for CMMC 2.0 took effect in December 2024, with phased enforcement starting in mid-2025.

Key Highlights:

  • 3 Levels:

    • Level 1 – Self-assessed (FCI)

    • Level 2 – NIST 800-171 (self or third-party assessed)

    • Level 3 – NIST 800-172 (DoD-led assessments)

  • POA&Ms allowed for conditional certification (180 days)

  • Mandatory assessments for some contracts starting in 2026

  • Full rollout by 2028
